MotivateMe

Transamerica asked Deloitte to participate in a hackthon they were hosting. I was chosen to be part of the small team and headed to Dallas, TX. The aim of the event was to reach their customers on another level and encourage them to take care of their health as well as their finances.

Over a span of 24 hours I created a flow showing individual challenges that benefit the user from both a health and wealth perspective. We specifically targeted a competitive archetype and included functionality aimed at motivating them. For instance, a social aspect that involved head-to-head competition with coworkers and company backed rewards to those atop the leaderboards.

Overall, the event went great and we placed 4th out of about 45 teams worldwide.

The concept used push notifications to promote the user to stay involved in challenges and allow their company and coworkers to create a fun, competitive way to save money and stay healthy.

The design was meant to be utility and clean, and void of the Transamerica branding. They wanted the user to feel a sense of ownership, in hopes that they would see it as a tool rather than company promotion in any way.
